well.
the hostage.
how and where do i begin?
in late november 2007, i auditioned for the winter 2008 Theatre St Thomas play "The Hostage", expecting to get no part, or a very small one.
i ended up getting a lead role. i was completely terrified. this horror subsided as i fell into the rehersal schedule in january. laughing and building chemistry with fellow cast mates.
this was dandy until i had to be off my script on the first week of february.
from then up until the final song on opening night, i was a MASSIVE bundle of stressed nerves.
with an ill grandfather who could take a turn for the very worst any day, my stress level was intense.
once i finished the performance on opening night, the relief i felt was amazing. and the next 4 shows were a blast.
getting comfortable on stage and digging into my character was a great feeling. acting (i mean really acting, none of that small, highschool poo) was fantastic. i loved it. i was SO out of my element throughout this whole process. but i totally mustered up that egotistical side of my personality and walked around like i owned the set. it was awesome.
and! i met about ten new amazing people. a few of which i will not lose touch with, and a few i know will not lose touch with me.
