I asked my friends to tell you that I couldn't come back to Australia to see the Dresden Dolls show because I had been raped.

WHATEVER.

They were uncomfortable. In any case, nobody cares if you remember their name. They know who you love and why you love.

That's the most important thing. That you're spreading love around and everybody is eager to catch just a glimpse of that falling star. People drift through your life and it imprints you, every single moment - but a name is just a name. It's nothing in the massive humongous scheme of thing.

Just love and believe that's enough.

I think the idea that you're using all your RAM is the right one. I haven't been following you for years like so many others, but I've always had the impression that you run eleventy billion miles an hour when you get going (and I mean this as a good thing). Given all that is going on and all that needs doing, I'm betting that your brain is simply saying "you know what? Names are an unimportant function right now." You remember love and that is a good thing.

I refer to it as "name aphasia", and it strikes most often when I'm talking with/about someone in a different context than how I initially associated with them. So I might not remember the name of a former co-worker if I meet them at a party, or even the name of a good friend for years if I'm writing a post about something they might like. It varies.

So, at worst, you're not alone in this.
