squishes, love and kisses
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
I know some people be hatin' on Valentine's Day, but I love it. Everything turns crazy, blood red and fluffy pink, the world is all about chocoaltes, flowers and sparkles and memories of cute and awkward elementary school valentines emerge from my childhood.
I understand the "why not give love EVERY day" viewpoint. But, whether mass-produced or not, I love the fact that, on this one day, love rules. I think of it in a very Terry Pratchett kind of way. Like, Love is some beast or ancient power who, by the alignment of the fates and the help of some bumbling wizards, was able to create a rift in the time continuum wherein a portal was opened that allows Love complete and total brainwashing control over the world for one day a year. And, because of which, everything becomes silly and covered in the gaudiest gold leaf. Also, by this power, there is a totally opposite force (to balance out the world, as it always must in TP's books) of devotees who hate Valentine's and mock the crazies running around with hearts and diamonds in their eyes. I love it.
My gift for
thewrongtim is still in the works, sadly. I did plan, but my plans just are taking longer to come to fruition. However, he gave me his gift last night and I'm so taken aback at just how wonderful he is. He bought us both introductory classes at Earth Treks so that we can try out hand at climbing. This is something we've both been excited about since we started getting into hiking last summer/fall. I just can't wait to see how crazy buff our arms get! Rarrrrrrrrrrr!
