PS- Do you know what's happening with fire performance at fest? After the craziness last year, I heard tale it may never occur again... is that true?

yes... as of right now it is unfortunately a taboo thing now. No Fire at MDRF. It sucks... but it's the laws.

damn. I hate it when a crazy situation ruins it for all. There's a lot of crazy folks trying to build its rep back up in Maryland... it has a bit of a bad name since last summer.

I'm all for people trying to get fire back at MDRF. maybe it will just take a couple years for things to die down enough for them to do something again.

I know on Closing Night last year, Carolyn "Fired" Jim from the cast at 7:00pm... so Jim was able to blow the closing fire-ball. Pretty funny stuff as he was immediately re-hired.

Who is doing what to build up the good reputation?

I know my friend Kate *Sensorial* has been performing like crazy and has been getting booked to do fire at local events to bring it back into the foray.

I'm looking for her site, though I know she does a bunch of stuff in the balto/dc area (she just did a Harry Potter book release at Daedalus in Baltimore, which I thought was a huge score for the team).

cool. I've met her a few times/taken classes from her and it seems like she's buzzing about the community.

I'd love to get more involved too, but I'm a major newbie.

I got to meet her at the last Cheeky Monkey Sideshow at the Palace of Wonders on Fri the 13. Very nice person, even though I didn't talk to her that night... I have since begun talking with her online.
