I am very sorry, you didn't get enjoy this one much.
As for myself, I think it was really good and I'm SO happy, they all (except maybe Bobby) got their happy ending.
I don't mind Lisa, I kinda like her. She might not know Dean so well yet, but that he said about her, a future together would be his heaven, implies heavily that he fell very hard for her. This might be irrational, but can you truely blame him in his situation to reach for every single positive experience he got? Also her son is what she has got ahead of all other lovers Dean ever had.
I love chuck and the Impala did never get the attention it deserves, so I'm happy about this one, too.
The way that Dean and Sam interact during this episode made me forget their discussions, their anger and all pentup emotions between them. I don't like characters who are usually very close fighting this much without some hope to get better along later once again. This episode showed one last time (season 6 is a different story) how close they are and how strong their bond is.
Those flashbacks and montages were quite emotional, even a bit overloaded. But I think they fit and all together, I'm just happy with the way it ends. It feels very much like a Goodbye for me and if season 6 will be a disappointment - what I do NOT expect, but anyway - I am satisfied to think of Swan Song as a fitting final for such a great series. :)

I'm really glad that you enjoyed it. Honestly. And watching it back it's not *as* bad as these tweets make it seem. If you want to read it i've posted a full length commentary on my LJ now too which better explains all my thoughts including what I did like as well as just what I didn't.

Lisa, I can totally see where you're coming from. I really can. To me, it's like he's fallen for the idea of her and certainly of Ben too, that's just not enough to satisfy me though. Not after five seasons worth.

I LOVED Dean and Sam's interaction too. I hope you don't think I didn't. They made some great development as characters and the love between them really was so sweet. I really didn't like the montages though! LOL

I'm very much looking forward to season 6 and seeing where everything is heading. Exciting for sure.

Thanks for commenting :)

Yeah, I just noticed :)
Gonna read it for sure.

I also think that is was a little bit too less action going on between Lisa and Dean, but then again SPN is know to make a character have a breakdown in one episode and in the next one there are no references at all. Lisa was no big deal when she was introduced, just another of Deans lovers and with the apocalypse going on, there was no real space for her. But when is there space for anything beyond Sammy in Deans world? I believe the exists more, he just can't let it out. Thus it's not shown and thus is't quite hard to believe when it finally is.
I'm fully okay with another opinion regarding this point. What I don't like are fangirls being mortified once their honey finally has a promising relationship. |D

No, I did not think that. Don't worry ;) A lot of friend with whom I have discussed this share your opinion. I see your point, it just doesn't work for myself. ^.-

Just replied to your other comment :)

I completely get what your saying. Supernatural does often suffer with continuity and just brushing away certain aspects of the storyline and yeah, the fact that we never really saw ANY of Dean's relationship with Lisa or how he felt about her is one of the main reasons that I wasn't happy with it. I agree that maybe Dean felt these things inside but I think with TV shows they need to SHOW it for the audience's sake and unfortunately Supernatural didn't do that.

But yeah, thanks for understanding. Whatever people's opinions, anyway, I think as soon as Dean realizes Sam is back it may well be the end for him and Lisa.

XD I'm happy when two people have different opinions but can still understand each other's perspective, so thanks :)

That's right. This SO reminds me of the YuGiOh series (looong time ago ;))
Dunno if you are familiar with it, but there was some romantiv tendencied between the protagonist and a girl in the beginning and in an interview later on the author told those two could get married in the future. The series focused on other aspects and thus there were many, many fans complaining how irrational that would be.
I don't know why, but mostly I go along with the author's pov regarding such things.

That could be, but I doubt it. What point in falling back to Sam und Dean's co-dependency? Okay, it doesn't have to be that bad, but I think Dean having a realtionship and Sam following some of his own plans would be a nice improvement. They can go hunting nevertheless and wehen Cas shows up from time to time, I'm really looking forward to season 6! <3

I have to thank you. ;) It's always nice to be able to hear other people's pov.

I'm not familiar with the series but I think what it comes down to is whether you put more of your hope into canon or into fanon. I think I'm so invested in fanon and the characters that the online community have created that sometimes when the writers don't go in that direction I get sad! LOL

I don't know what to think! I just need Season 6 now so we can know how it's going to go!

And you're welcome. Same :)
