I was hopped up on caffeine
when you found me there
we then went out for fries
and cherry coke

we sat there and you paid for me
because once again
i was dirt broke

you looked so happy
finding that cherry
in the bottom of the glass

you drove me home
i'm glad because i spent
all my busfare on that last coffee
and i was glad because it was you

We got lost along the way
because you have no sense of direction
but that makes me laugh
like you always make me do

we got to my house
and sat in the parking lot
i live in cheap condominiums
the sun was almost setting
but not quite

i asked you for a kiss
you granted me that wish
and i left with a smile

its a temporary happiness
that i'll remember for years
