Finally got around to posting a few pics of Manchester. I've been in need of a break for a while, and what better excuse for a holiday than stalking admiring your favourite actor in his new play?
I was particularly suprised to see Ewan outside the theatre. It's kind of an insult to post a huge picture of a Jedi across the street from where the Dark Lord of the Sith is going to work every day.
There's a few more pics in the
Gallery if you're curious as to what the RET looks like.
I did get scared that I was going to start shaking or screaming when he appeared but I held it together, largely by digging my nails into my palm. Amazingly close-up and intimate performance, in every sense. When he took his bow, he was so near that if I'd stretched my hand out, my fingertips would have stroked the top of his head. Granted, doing so would have lead to social exclusion and probably a restraining order, but I could have done it.
Only problem is, it's totally spoiled me for seeing Ian in a proper play on a distant stage. Now I've been so close, it won't be the same.
Thumbs up to Manchester; great city, loads to see and do, clean, people v. friendly. I would like to come back when Ian's not around to distract me.
