Calling it "the other world" is inaccurate, but at the moment I have no other term for it. A proper one will be conceived in time.

Regardless, it is quiet there, above and below ground. Most have taken to carrying on.
There is little that can be done, though most have not tried very hard. You cannot really blame them.

What is there to know here?

details details details, nature versus nurture, a little specificity, *ic

A relief, at the very least, sister.

So I had surmised. Tantalus is not much of a conversationalist, but I could not leave the Underworld unattended in good consciousness.

I suppose it is selfish of me, considering the Underworld, but I am glad to have you here.

Selfishness is not necessarily bad. For you, I am glad to be here.

I believe the Underworld is a lost cause.

Is it truly that bad?

I believe there is little point in worrying needlessly.

A wise idea. It is one I have been trying to live by.

Out of curiosity, have you just arrived?

Within the last 48 hours. It was necessary to become acquainted before making contact.

Why?

Understandable. It is quite a lot to come to terms with.

What we discuss here stays between us, okay?

Not particularly. The terrain is different, that is all.

Of course.

I'm glad it is an easier transition for you then.

Mama went back home a few days ago. Papa killed her, something they both decided on. Did you see her?

It is hard to forget an initial bout with mortality, no matter how long it has been since that time.

To test the boundaries of this place? Interesting.
No. I did, however, hear talk of her but assumed it was mere spirit chit-chat.
Did she see anyone?

Papa tested the theory before he killed mama. He killed someone else before killing mama. When you die here, you don't stay dead.

I don't know. I just found out about it. They did not tell me before hand because they did not want to alarm me. They are big about keeping things like that. They didn't tell me Papa did not remember us children until after I questioned multiple times.

Was the other subject female? After the first time she disappeared we kept our distance. That attracted a lot of attention.

I can understand where they are coming from, and your father is your father. Is the memory loss actual loss or the lack of memories? People have failed to mention that.

But I am sorry he didn't remember, Makaria.
