sweep and clean
i practice yoga every other thursday with a group of women
last summer we practiced in the big red barn at crown point
and it was wonderful
when we moved it to the orchard house for winter
it just wasn't the same
but tonight was the first night of the year in the big old red barn
and i stress it is big...i love it
surrounded by wood wood wood
and high ceilings with lofts all around...and this picture window that doesn't have glass in it...
the circulation of air in the barn is wonderful
almost like being outside
but more contained and focused
and there are xmas lights on the rafters and beams
some that twinkle and blink
they had homeschooling in the barn tonight before class
and the laughter of children could still be felt
although now it was quiet and serene
and a mess...
time to sweep and clean...
i just delight in doing stuff like that when i have the opportunity
cleaning cooking gardening hostessing
...making common things feel beautiful
helping people to feel comfortable in a space
so i burned some incense and swept the main barn floor
the place was swept clean of debris and residual whatever
and i felt a lot more clear as well
as for the practice
the women and i had a lovely experience
it was quite relaxing and rejuvenating
sweet and opening...and there were hugs had :)
