beauty in the fall
(the kiss of fate)
i hear whispers of formulated answers
while my denial leads me blind.
there is silence in these murders,
these deceptions of the mind.
with muffled breaths they stalk the shadows
and with sordid smiles fain comply,
but with confronted apathy it follows,
and thrusts a searing knife into my eye.
so i speak in child-like terror
in attempt to accuse the lies,
finding a voice in all, but one error:
fate would die before it cries.
if only i could accept this,
i might break its wary wall,
and crumble forth its wayward kiss
to find beauty in the fall
