Ugh stop it Mentalist. Stop making me ship Lisbon and Jane more and more each episode (and I'm still only in season 1!). Stop giving them witty dialogue and fun banter and serious discussions about trust issues. Stop having Lisbon save Jane's life. Stop having Jane tease her at every opportunity but then be offended that she doesn't trust him. Stop making me view all of his lines and actions through the lens of Jane's obvious hidden agenda to attempt to sabotage Lisbon's romantic relationships with other men because he so totally has the hots for her.

Or something.

Ugh just stop it with your faces.

Watched the first episode of the new season of Warehouse 13. By accident, actually, because last night I thought it was Tuesday for some reason and that The Nine Lives of Chloe King and Covert Affairs were going to be on. Alas, they were not. Instead, question I kept asking myself last night: WHY DID I STOP WATCHING THIS SHOW??? Mostly because I also kept asking myself: WHERE THE FUCK IS MYKA??? Because let me tell you, if they ditched Myka I would have been extremely displeased. However, apparently at the end of last season Myka ditched them? Because of H.G. Wells' betrayal? Which led me back to CAN THEY BE ANY MORE GAY FOR EACH OTHER? THEY HAD BETTER NOT BE GETTING RID OF MYKA but it's cool, it's cool, she's back and my family team is still so very pretty and now slightly larger. Which you know, I'm okay with. He's cute.

I think I ship Myka/H.G. Wells more than Pete/Myka though. This is one of those cases where I just want the partners to be really good friends. I think I ship Steve/Myka more than Pete/Myka. Um. But Myka/H.G. Wells still wins. Why did I stop watching this show?

Just look at these classy bitches struttin' around. Oh show, how did I ever stop watching you?

Alphas premiered right after Warehouse 13, so I watched it. BECAUSE APPARENTLY I EAT SYFY SHOWS LIKE CANDY, IDK, IDEK. Anyway. I liked it more than I was expecting. The point when I realized this show was going to be cool was right at the beginning, when Nina was introduced being pulled over by a cop. The first thing I thought was, oh no, she's going to have some kind of seduction powers a la Alisha from Misfits, which, much as I love Misfits, is a very problematic power to me. But no. Nina's power is a lot more like Kira's in Push (Nina even says she 'pushed' someone at one point lol), though I like Nina a lot more than Kira. Nina's very, very competent, and very well put together and confident, and there's so much potential in her backstory because I'm wondering about (and they've hinted at) what made a person with abilities like Nina's stay good? Why does she choose to help people, instead of just doing whatever she wants? I have a feeling she wasn't always like that.

Other people of interest to me: Rachel and Gary. Rachel's power is just awesome to me. ~Enhancing the senses. She also obviously has some issues at home too, so I'm really looking forward to seeing all that explored and hopefully watching her become more confident in herself and her abilities. A little disappointed that she got used as a hostage by the baddie at the end, buuuuut I'm willing to let it slide, again in the hopes that she'll later be able to handle such situations on her own. Then there's Gary, who basically sees electronic wavelengths such as tv and wifi and such. He's high-functioning autistic, though it's not clear if this is because of all the stuff he constantly sees (which is interesting to watch, since he's always responding to stuff other people can't see, and sometimes we can see it too and sometimes we can't), or if it's a thing independent of his abilities. Idk. He's really hilarious though, and apparently he was in Bones? I just found that out. And also he has a delicious British accent. The actor, not the character, unfortunately, but whatever.

Yeah, so highly delightful characters and a bit of a twist on the traditional superhero premise, in that they're not so much superheroes as people with enhanced abilities. They don't have super-strength, they have an enhanced fight-or-flight response. They don't have super agility, they have 'hyperkinesis.' I think I'll be looking into it...
