General thoughts:

-AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRYYYYYYYY!!!!! *tear*

Okay, I kind of saw that coming from waaaaaaaaaay off. Like, last season, maybe before. But it still made me cry a little when Mary started crying. :'( Marshall, jump on this NOW

-So, I guess that because Elanor has mysteriously vanished they needed to bring in some other character for Mary to have an semi(ish)-antagonistic office relationship with. I did love Elanor, but I suppose this new lady is doing pretty well so far. Although some of her methods are high-handed and stupid.

-Okay, Wade's views on love? I disagree, personally. Of course, I'm rather unromantic when it comes to love, so no real surprise, but it kind of irked me that this episode was set up so that the guy who smugly presented his version of love (of the love-at-first-sight school of thought) as the One And Only True Love was shown as being right. His casual dismissal of Mary's (and by extension, Raph's) feelings because she wasn't absolutely positive at first eye contact that Raph was The One (Forever And Always) really just pissed me off. There are different kinds of love. Not everyone feels love the same, or expresses it the same way . That does not make these feelings any less valid or real. So yeah, love-at-first-sight may have worked out great for him, but that doesn't mean at was more real than anything else.

By the extension of this episode's logic, Mary and Marshall don't belong together either, and I'm pretty sure the show is setting them up eventually.

Augh, okay. Gah, I have such picky tastes in my romance and how it is set-up/portrayed. Personally, as a story-telling device, I much prefer a more gradual development to love at first sight. It is just more appealing to me, probably because it seems more realistic to me. While I think some people can do the whole love at first sight thing, I just can't relate to it.

Gah. Done now.

what is love?, tv: in plain sight, rant
