I keep holding out for Photobucket to be fixed so I could do a proper photo post, but that seems improbable of ever happening.
Things are grand here in Belfast. I love this city. I live in an old Victorian on a street of charming old Victorians. My classes are mostly interesting and intense - I've already had to give a presentation, and have a paper due soon. Still not certain what I'll be writing my dissertation on, but we discussed the securitization of public health last night and I was a happy camper.
One of the things I love, LOVE about Belfast is that it's ringed by mountains. So, you may be walking down a bustling city street and all of a sudden there is this mountain brooding in the distance, shrouded in fog and looming over the city like a giant.
I've met some really fabulous people but am trying to meet more. It's shockingly easy here - couldn't ask to be in a more outgoing area. My third day here I met a local author, we got to talking, and now I have a horseback riding buddy. She's taken me out to her sister's farm to ride and it was fantastic.
I've also joined the choir (they're way too good! I should probably restrain my singing to the shower) and the fencing team, both things that I was an active participant in when I was younger and it feels good, so good to get back to now.
For now, though, I'm sick and tired and off to bed.
