In The Midnight Hour
It has been almost exactly a year since I've last posted. I really hope to keep up better on this thing.
As 2013 draws to a close, the one thing I'm remembering is how Kelsey and I would stay up late together playing video games or surfing on Neopets.com, reminiscing about the past year. I miss her at times. She got married recently.
I also miss Cortnie.and Cristian. But I was able to see Cort last week to get my pictures done for some Christmas presents (Cortnie Dee Photography)! So happy to see her following her passion, asserting her independence, and being happy.
Update on me for the past year....
I was seasonal at H&R Block till June of 2013. After that I did a brief stint of e-mail tech support for a market research firm called Luth Research.
Tracy moved to San Jose with her girlfriend in September. I have been working steadily to get myself there as well.
Currently, thanks to her help [employee referral], I am working for Sharp Healthcare as a technical support analyst. Despite the boss making me cry on my first day (and she's the one who adopted Tiffany, my best cat!), the hours are alright and I make good money ($23/hr + shift differential for my new night hours).
I was initially planning on moving up to the Bay area by the New Year, but now that has been pushed back a couple of months so that I can save money (hello tax return!).
I will be volunteering with Best Friends Animal Sanctuary from Feburary 19th to March 4th in Kenab, Utah and am so so so excited!
I am wrapping up my Associate's degree with University of Phoenix and am totally excited about that too! Still wondering what to do for my Bachelor's though, especially if I move into the animal field for my career.
I am really excited to get my ass out of San Diego and move up north to be with my best friend. Not only have we been best friends for 17 years now, but she just...totally gets me, I love her to pieces. There are many tech/animal/and food jobs up north as well, so I will have plenty of options.
2014 is going to be a great year for me.
I will make it so.
