Why do people like Rasknolnikov over Hamlet? At least, that's the general impression I've been getting. Hamlet seems so much cleverer than Raskolnikov, at least in terms of verbal quips. Broody characters need to be sarcastically entertaining, else they become emo replicas of today's stereotypical depressed teenagers. But maybe it's because Raskolnikov is really... delusional, and that he commits a murder first, before tormenting himself over it. I guess we're all attracted to crazy sullen killers.

So apparently, eating lots of sugar makes you stupid, and eating lots of fish and curry makes you smart. Eating a lot in general makes you stupid too. It's so true; right now I'm full of dinner, and I just feel so... brainless, like my mind's decided to digest without worry a whit about improper integrals. I guess one should starve oneself before finals?

I'm beginning to 'get' Wagner. Still like Puccini more, though.
