I finished Midnight's Children last night (not at Midnight though...that would have been too appropriate and poetic!) and began White Teeth this morning. Midnight's Children was wonderful, I really recommend it. I want to travel to India now! I feel a bit more educated too about India's past which is always good to gain from fiction I think. White Teeth is a lot better than On Beauty so far which was an utter let down I thought.
Also, I am considering buying a digital SLR (omgz digital! slr!...poor practika...). Any recommendations from anyone? I would say my budget is about £300 and I've seen the Nikon D40 on amazon for £272, including lens. Is it any good? I figure I deserve to treat myself as I have been working so much and my old fujifilm S7000 is getting on a bit now. I have been loyal to it but the time has come to trade it in for a younger model.
I've also began swimming again! It is so so nice, I missed it a lot throughout exams and general laziness.
