So I was thinking about why shows get canned...

So lately I've been going back and rewatching old shows that I either never started, never finished, or just really liked. Mostly because there really are so few shows nowadays that I enjoy. Everyone is so caught up in being real and gritty(which isn't especially a bad thing) and I really can't enjoy it mostly. Like, I want to watch Jessica Jones, ( Read more... )

I just don't want to end up crying my eyes out and feeling shitty after watching my so-called escapism TV.

Yeah, I have a few shows I love a lot, but I haven't touched them in ages because I really need to be extra stable to bear them. The Americans is one of them, The West Wing another.

I've been meaning to watch The Librarians! And Leverage lol. I've heard good things

I haven't managed to get into Leverage yet, but I will try again. I think John Rogers is very good. It takes itself a little more seriously than the Librarians do - which is exactly what I appreciate about the Librarians. ;D

Elementary has been one of my favs since it started. It's funny because I doubted it seriously before it aired because I didn't like that they erased John/Joan's military service, but it blew me away entirely and quickly surpassed Sherlock in terms of quality.

Yes! They way it convinced everyone even after so much fandom hype against it, that was just amazing. I was hesitant because people thought they'd only genderswitched John so they could pair them up. And they did no such thing. (By now, I wouldn't even be against it anymore. They are both such cool characters.)

Aside from that though you should give it a shot!

It never occurred to me to watch it, the setup didn't sound like it was for me. But if it's this short, I guess I can find time for it.

And then I hope John Rogers can spend more time on the Librarians again? *g*

I've heard really good things about his shows; I was THIS CLOSE to starting Leverage when it was really popular but just didn't get around to it and I actually still have the pilot of The Librarians downloaded to watch...sometime.

Elementary completely validated itself and proved so many of us wrong and I'm just very very proud of it for it! I'm kind of the opposite; in the beginning I wouldn't have minded them together but now I feel like they're reached a sort of brother-sister thing and I can't imagine them together together now!

It's fun and short and I'll be honest, Phillip Winchester is very pretty to look at, but on top of that the main female character is just absolutely incredible and I want to be like her when I grow up. She's very impressive and there's actually a scene in the last episode where it's all set up for her to be a damsel in distress but she turns it around a la The Black Widow and interrogates her interrogators. Amazing.

Oh my, I should have known! All of his shows have kickass female leads. It never even occurred to me that The Player would have, too, but it stands to reason. Now that is one compelling reason to watch it!

The Librarians are a little over the top silly, but even so, I adore Eve Baird, the Guardian. She is the strongest woman ever, without having to be strong all the time.
