Why So Serious???

The Dark Knight is the movie of the summer. Heath was amazing and stole the movie. Sad that we will not be able to see him do more. July has been full of people leaving CBC. Steve, our safety guy, left to go to a smaller company, Frank, a dispatcher, does not like his job and is quitting July 31, another dispatcher was fired back in June and recently Chad, our newest edition, died. In fact he died today. Only 31 years old too. Bad car accident, in trauma unit for a week on a ventulator and today passed away. I am in shock right now. It feels like it's raining on losses in all ways.

I have been doing well at work. I have the coal run under control. Last week I started with the rock and petcoke runs. Still learning the ropes there. I am studying up this weekend so I can be quicker and more efficient next week. I pretty much observed last week. I love new challenges, but I don't know how I will do with this one yet.

There was a bad six oil spill in the river too. The river is closed for close to a hundred miles. The industry is suffering because boats/ships can't move and products are stuck in fleets in the affected area. Last I heard they were going to try and open the river by Monday. No telling. The tug that was pushing the barge that split were unlicensed too. We will see the ugly federal law suit with that one.

I took the GMAT again on Thursday. Same results as last time. UNO will not allow me to continue in the MBA program until I get the required score. And $250 every test is a lot. It can be written off as an education credit, but still. I am going to look into the GMAT courses on the weekends, but right now I have enough challenges at work. Leo, Mom and Dad are at Georgia Tech until Tuesday. Leo is meeting his roommate and doing orientation. He leaves pretty soon too. Last weekend I spent with Val and it was a lot of fun. We went to Target, had lunch at Roly Poly and chilled. I got her a cute shirt at Hot Topic last week and she loved it.

It's been raining this week, which is what we needed. Kim, Lydia, Mikee, Katie and I went to Reginelli's and had a good time. We all had not hung out in forever. It was real fun to see them and talk about what everyone is up to. We are going to make an effort to hang out more. Gram and I got a flat screen TV! So exciting. Set up with some HD too. Gram is freaking out about the remote, but she will get the hang of it lol.

The summer is flying by and I want at least one day at the beach! Hopefully next Saturday will work out. Beer, sunshine and maybe a volleyball would be awesome!

That's all for now. Please keep Chad Wershbale and his family in your prayers. RIP Heath and RIP Chad - Only the good die young.
