First Week of Classes

Sep 30, 2010 16:16

*edit* Oh, and I've been here for one month!!

So I had my first week classes this week. The classes I will be taking are: Japanese, Japanese society and culture, multilingualism and multiculturalism (which will be a linguistic history of Japan), intercultural communication, Family, work, and gender, and sumi-e painting. All my classes seem really interesting. My Japanese classes seem like I will actually learn something, instead of the classes back at WAC. As much as I loved Narita Sensei, she was a bad teacher -_-. The Japanese society and culture is supposed to be focused on Japanese consumerism, but the class seems like pretty much like a joke. The professor doesn't speak the greatest English and there is no syllabus. I guess I'm just used to more organized classes like back in the States. The rest of my classes, I'm really excited about, as nerdy as that sounds. They all sound really interesting. I can't wait to do sumi-e painting class. It will be nice to have a hands on class. And at the end of the semester, there will be an exhibition with our final projects haha.

Also, it seems like I won't have to be here for the finals period at all, so I might be able to change the date I come home, but only by a couple of days.

I should be buying my plane ticket to Hong Kong, it just might take me a while to actually hit the button to buy it...haha. It's going to hurt, but it will be worth. When will I get another chance to go to Hong Kong. I need to take advantage of the situation while I can. And those who love me dearly, or just want to give me money, can contribute xmas/bday early so I don't have to starve ^_~

Sarah comes in one week~~!!!!!!!!!
