Tradition time

I'd definitely forgotten until tonight just how amazing lantern night is as a tradition.  Yes, it's a crazy cult ritual, but it's such a beautiful thing to watch.  And to be a part of the freshman class's very first real tradition just makes me really happy.  I finally learned all the words to Sophias (and most for Pallas as well), which was really nice.  And the whole thing was really well-organized, which is kind of shocking.  Last year was a bit chaotic, at least for the runners.

So Marissa and Hadass decided to be boring and not go to step sing, and I almost left too because I couldn't find anyone to stay with.  And then Emily showed up, and all was well.  So we stayed, and were two of the 16 (!) juniors who showed up.  But we pretty much won at step sing this time, so it was ok.  We're way better at it when the people who can't read don't show up (and apparently even better when Abby's drunk).  Anyhow, all was well, and step sing was super short, and my candle still hadn't gone out an hour ago.  Apparently we're making up for all the times it's gone out way too early.  Odd.

Anyhow, happy lantern night!  Now we just have to get through the long wait until the next major tradition (which coincides beautifully with my 21st birthday...heh) - four months until Hell Week!
