Again, with the long time between updates. I kept meaning to update last week, since the entirety of February has been pretty amazing, but never got around to it. I don't feel like recapping, but some highlights were random brownie baking, shot checkers, Dylan's birthday party with the vampire in attendance, going to Katie's for Superbowl, my 6 month anniversary, and general hanging out with everyone.

How bad of a girl am I? I didn't notice that DB put flowers in my room last night for a solid fifteen minutes, even though I was going in and out of it and they are very visible. I should have noticed that the vase with roses from Glen that was on my desk had been moved and filled with alstromera, but it totally escaped me until he basically pointed them out for me. Other than the flowers, we aren't commemorating Valentine's Day.

I came to the realization that I had much more fun the years I didn't have a boyfriend, sometimes not even a crush on Valentine's Day than when I do. I miss the HS days where everyone was excited that we got to dress down, so pink and red were faithfully worn. Even if the girls were in protest of the holiday yada yada, they looked festive. And the candygrams that everyone would send to support some charity/club or another. Plus when I was at home, Dad would always get flowers for us, and mom would put together random little bags of goodies. Evidence to this point:

Sophomore year, Feb 14-made little sacks of candy for all my friends "from" the boy they liked. Little bit of trouble with that, but overall people were amused and enjoyed it.

Junior year, Feb 14-the beginning of condom distribution. Our house had tons of condoms around it, so in addition to the candy in the sacks, condoms of different flavors were also included, though I think everyone who got one was a virgin, don't remember specifically. Sheer amusement factor and established me as the person to come to in my class year for condoms, which was kinda funny, girls I wasn't at all friendly with came up to talk to me about it.

Senior year, Feb 14- the crowning glory of all SGC Days! Going out to dinner, though we never did get our rose, exchanging presents, and then the sign stealing. Such an amazing time. It is because of this day I told DB explicitly don't bother with it, nothing can beat senior year's Feb 14.

Then came college, and having a boyfriend. I guess I can't fault him entirely, cause there were extenuating circumstances. But I could have, with complete justification, had him come over, and throw the flowers that were sitting on my desk in his face and tell him I never wanted to see him again. I can't help it if my grandparents die around holidays. It's not even a real holiday, he was just obsessed.

So really, no matter my relationship status on facebook, Feb. 14th is always going to be SGC day!
