(no subject)
It's been almost or maybe more than a month since i last wrote here, and i can say that in that time not much happened, or maybe I can't remember...which ever it is, here's the most recent stuff.
Last week, there was a drill meet for the NS-1's here at the high school, and we participated, and gave it our best shot, but didn't place high enough to get any hardware, or trophies. We had been practicing for so long for that one moment, and we, i mean I blew it. I guess that it's mostly my fault, because as I was commanding I choked, and froze up, and screwed us all up.
That was the competition, which I am not very proud of. One thing i'm very proud of however is how well i do in rifle team. I'm lucky to be up there with the four best shooters, specially since this is my first year shooting. We're going through this tournament between other ROTC units in Fairfax County, and so far we're doing very well. I've been shooting scores high enough to make my average a 222, which is second best, of course i don't think i'll ever be able to beat the top shooter, and his average of 250, because 1 he's way too good, and 2 it's his last year. I need maybe one more practice day, in order to shoot two more targets, and score high enough to get my marksman medal, and the start working on my sharpshooter medal.
It was funny earlier this week, i think monday. I went to rifle team practice, and told CDR that i was going to have to cut it short, because i had important business to attend to, and he said it was fine. So we start shooting, i shoot a very good Prone target in under 5 minutes (a score of 91 out of 100), and leave. I left because kelly and I were going to hang out for while, and so we did. When we were coming back, Kelly decided to go to the front of the school through the ROTC spaces, and i followed thinking that everyone in Rifle team had left. As we're getting clsoe to the door CDR comes out, looks at me, i look at him, turn around, and keep walking, thinking that the next day i would be history, luckily nothing happened.
This weekend was pretty good i guess. Friday i went to the movies w/ Kelly, then we went to dinner, and walked around worldgate for like an hour. I had a great time. Then saturday i went to my cousins house and came back at like 11 the next day. Then today i just sat around doing homework all day. It sucked that i didn't get to spend any time w/ kelly today...oh well. Next weekend was going to be great, because i was going down Norfolk to shoot against one of the best NROTC units in the state, but they cancelled that trip. Now i have nothing to do, and it's looking pretty boring. I might end up getting together with some friends from SL and here, and start shooting the movie for my project. 2 weeks from now is going to be great though, because i'm going to see an airshow in maryland, and they'll be displaying other aircraft and i just can't wait. That's it.
