When life gives you lemons... squeeze the juice on apples or eggplants to stop them from oxidizing.
Fencing is such a difficult sport. Every move has to be calculated and you have to be so nimble. Hopefully in a few weeks my thighs and groin area will be adjusted to the en garde position, bleh. My right arm is so achy from playing racquetball yesterday. Tomorrow is salsa dancing lessons with Ashley, woo.
We talked about Adlerian birth order personalities in Theories of Personality today.
Only child:
"Birth is a miracle. Parents have no previous experience. Retains 200% attention from both parents. May become rival of one parent. Can be over-protected and spoiled."
"Likes being the center of adult attention. Often has difficulty sharing with siblings and peers. Prefers adult company and uses adult language."
"Because only children lack siblings, they lose the immediate availability of others near their own age with whom to interact socially. In order to develop normal social skills, only children must be exposed to other children of the same age through other means. For example, play groups can be valuable for the learning of social skills. However, only children must work to win friends because family life does not provide them."
"Only children tend to...
Be well-organized, or perfectionists
Be comfortable with responsibility
Not take criticism well
Be comfortable with being the center of attention
Be responsible"
