New semester, A new chapter?

As I step into the Auditorium I noticed the new, unfamiliar faces around me. Some look awkward, some excited and some even look indifferent to what’s happening around them. I excitedly take my seat as I clutch my orientation schedule, new college t-shirt, sling bag and UniSA welcome kit. I really look forward to the new semester.

The orientation lasted for 2 days which started last Thursday. Though the orientation program wasn’t that exciting in general, the Team Building session was an exception. The most memorable part of the session was me being carried through a hoop that was suspended in the air with some string. I have always wondered how it feels like to be carried into the air by a crowd of people just like those rockers who jump into the mosh pit during concerts. It was definitely an experience. Hehe.

The 2 day orientation ended with the Orientation Dinner organized by the Student Council. I honestly felt awkward dressing up for the event but I know that dear Janice will breathe down my neck if I didn’t make an effort. :P The dinner was alright I suppose. The performances got monotonous after awhile but it was a good effort. Nevertheless I did enjoy myself that night. I have always wanted to go for an orientation night because we didn’t have one when my batch joined in March 2005. It was too small an intake to go all out for an orientation.

Tomorrow classes will officially start. I’m so glad that I’ve caught up with my manga, finished watching Gakuen Alice (Tsubasa-kun is to die for), and almost finished half of Prison Break, Season 1.

In another 1.5 years I’ll be a graduate. The thought of it gets me feeling nervous but I’ll get over it. The assignments will definitely keep my mind busy. Who knows what exciting things will be in stored for me in the future?

I’m looking forward to tomorrow. (:
