So... an update of sorts.
For those of you who have been living under a rock or have felt the lack of my cell phone reception, I now live in York, ME. It's an awesome first floor fully furnished apt. with an ocean view. Rent isn't bad considering, and all the utilities are included. plus, the realtor could care less about our (that would be mason and I) two cats and a dog. i really do love it here--with the exception of getting no cell reception whatsoever. Basically, the only time I have to make phone calls has been driving to and from work, so don't feel shafted if you havent talked to me in a while. Also, we finally got neighbors upstairs, and of course they are gorilla-sized. They also like to yell, stomp around, and watch tv into all hours of the night.
Work is going fine. I have two jobs, one full time (as a barista) and one part time (hallmark), and both are nice enough but I'm definitely exhausted by Sun. I've discovered that I work much better with a) people NOT my age and b) people who aren't "girly". I'm still holding out for a government job at the passport center that might be available in dec/jan... that would mean more money, less neurotic co-workers, and less guy harrassment (that goes for both jobs). Seriously, I havent been this hit on in a while. It's uncomfortable and unwanted, damnit.
Also for those of you who have been under a rock, I got a horrible case (at least this is what I think it was) of food poisoning a month ago and have been sick ever since. It culminated in last week's getting dizzy and faint everyday at work and almost passing out once. To put it as delicately as possible, my body has been rejecting every nutrient I put into it and supplying me with neverending stomach upset, but for some reason I've been working just as much as ever and havent gone to the doctor's. Finally it dawned on me two days ago to start drinking powerade, and I'm surprised to say that I feel so much better! I don't want to jinx myself, but the giardia or whatever intestinal whitewashing agent I had seems to have backed down at last! I'd be more than happy to close this chapter entitled "the month I lost 8 pounds eating only carbs and fat and not exercising". Not fun, people, not fun. I'll take spinach and metabolism battling anyday, thank you.
ok... I think that wraps things up. So much more has happened, but those are the highlights. apart from the work exhaustion and sickness, life has been good, can't complain!
