So the servers are down..I figured I might as well make an update.
Last week started on a very different note than the previous two weeks I've enjoyed on Sargeras thus far. Tuesday began with us running light on healers, forcing us to head into Hyjal again just a day after we downed Archimonde following a number of trying attempts. Surprisingly it seemed like the officers were fully intent on clearing the whole instance in one night to give us more time to focus on BT, which I kind of blew off as thats not an easy task for a guild thats taken down Archimonde twice. Well, apparenty it's a lot easier than expected as we flew through the entire zone and took out all 5 bosses in one night. It was a pretty neat experience, and I'm thinking we'll probably be able to replicate it again tonight as long as the server doesn't suck it up.
Because of our efforts in Hyjal I finally got to make some progress into BT. I missed Najentus and Supremus due to school related junk, but I managed to join up with the group as we oved onto Akama and Gorefiend. The fights in BT, at least the ones I've seen, are definitely on a much less epic scale than Kael or Vashj. They are pretty straight forward encounters similar to a lot of the bosses in TK/SSC, just with a higher difficulty level. Most of the fights seem to require a retard check (like ghosts on Teron) for every player in the raid, so it's pretty easy for one person to fuck up everything for the entire group.
The first real check obviously comes at Gorefiend with ghosts, however this really isn't the first difficult fight in BT. Gurtogg is a really hard fight and a lot of people seem to agree that he alongside Reliquary of Souls are the two toughest encounters in the entire game at this point. It's not so difficult for me personally as it's pretty easy for me to handle fel rage with evasion, however it's incredibly hard for the healers and they have to be spot on more so than any other fight to this point. This is especially true when classes like mages or priests get fel enrage, as they get gibbed pretty quickly. We ended up taking him down, putting us at 5/9 in BT, over halfway! I'm thinking RoS will probably takes us a couple of days at least, but once we get past that fight I'm pretty comfortable with us clearing BT within the next couple of weeks. Anyhow..time to check back on the servers and see if they are finally up. Hopefully we won't get screwed out of a raid night because of w/e is going on.
