4 Years Later: Part 8 Congregation Temple Walter Sobchak

Apr 29, 2011 12:50

A Facebook friend posted this recently. Probably a good idea if I ever go to Israel that I don't approach the border. I would probably accidentally start a international incident if I ever beaned a Palestinian kid back in the head with a rock in return.

Starting at minute 35 in the video, makes me wonder how much Catholic school made me mirror the views of the Christians in the video on a working vacation. I remember when that fundy wouldn't leave and kept ringing the bell at Thee X's house. I pulled a "Evangelical Chosen People of God" speech out of my ass with how the various victories in war were proof of God and the Jewish faith, blah, blah, blah. Had her flustered and reaching for her Bible. She came there to convert Jews. She was surprised when I mentioned I was Catholic.

Question myself. Was I more pissed at her as mocking atheist that a Christian Fundy was interrupting my breakfast? OR, was I more pissed as some type of Sleeper Christian with a opposing viewpoint against her blasphemy? A STO pitbull barking at another dog wanting to sniff my owner ass. I wonder how imaginative at the time I really was. After all, I did name my first pet Golda, appropriate name for a goldfish, back in grade school after one of the Prime Ministers. At 36:30 gets more mirror-like.

I still have my little IDF kippa. Should get a plain black one in case I ever need one for a wedding or whatever. Not that I ever expect to need one again. I never was IDF and people might confuse me as some kind of Walt(fake service). The white temporary kippas sit goofy on my head. Would be good to have one in drawer.

Currently have a picture of Thee X as the background for my main PC. I don't have the one of her younger sitting by the tree when we were together. I have the one with her behind a RPG-7 and MK 19 grenade launcher on her Birthright trip. At the time of the photo she was pretty upset with me and didn't look happy. Also one of the few of her where I can't see her eyes since she is wearing sunglasses. Time flys as it was taken five years back. I keep it up because it still makes me work a little harder.

As for me, funny how I mirror the Walter Sobchak character from The Big Lebowski in many ways, LoLz.
