Hey Everyone!
I'm actually supposed to be working on my paper right now, but my brain isn't kicking into gear so I thought this would be a good warm-up.
I've been traveling the Journal world, following links from friends' journals to other journals to yet other journals and I've discovered that people talk about some strange things on their journals. Maybe I'm just looking at the wrong segment of the Journal community, but there seems to be a diverse selection of things that people talk about. Some post writing and art-work, some talk about their day to day lives, some show links to sites with weird attractions (Skeletor singing the YMCA song in Chinese takes the Weirdest/Funniest Idea Award). It's all very interesting. I find myself wondering what would happen if I, an outsider as it were, were to respond to these others. Would I be welcomed? Would I be shunned? I'm not sure. I have no doubt that it depends on who's journal I decided to make my presence known, being that each person's temperment differs from another. Yet I would like to think that I would be welcomed because that is that I would do if anyone else decided to come to see my journal (something that won't happen, I'm sure) and post a comment about my thoughts. However, as I stated before, I can't help but think that I am somewhat of an exception when it comes to Journal content. The goal of using a journal for self-reflection and open discussion on odd day-to-day thoughts seems to be a unique view of what the journal can be used for. I guess we'll see. Anyway, I'm going to get back to my assignment. Wish me luck!
