And, meanwhile... I see that Hacienda in New York is having their first live in person event in a year, this week:

...limited to 25 attendees. This will be our first time opening our space to the public since March 2020. Masks are required and please be mindful of social distancing. We have plenty of space for guests to spread out...

The Kumbh Mela pilgrimage (30-50 million people?) to 4 cities along the Ganges has been overloading the charnel grounds with bodies... They can't even burn the corpses fast enough! It's extra frustrating that the gov't caved to astrologers that wanted to have the festival a year early, (for years, they were planning it for 2022) although they shortened the holy season to 1 month, instead of 4! If India had access to vaccines, a large percentage of the population is willing to take them, but countries with more money are getting the bulk of the supply (Easter in Rome, Pesach in Jerusalem & Ramadan were larger & safer this year, compared to 2020)

This seems like a rather useful resource...

The US has also produced a study with relatively similar results...

Doug Lowy of the National Cancer Institute, who co-authored of the study, said, "That's a tenfold decrease, which is essentially a 90% reduction in risk for people who are antibody positive."

Lowy cautioned that the study used real-time data and wasn't conducted in a clinical setting, meaning "confounders"-or factors that distort the data-could be present. That means the tenfold increase in protection should be taken as an estimate, Lowy said, because in reality, "maybe it's a threefold difference, and maybe it's a twentyfold difference."

However, I also see some indication that although reinfections may be less likely to occur, reinfections can be worse when they happen... at least in certain circumstances for certain people ( ... )

Just to be clear, the phenomenon of complete disregard for medical science during this pandemic is certainly not confined to the US... it's just particularly garish, here (perhaps because of the extreme degree of purely selfish greed, here?)... also consider what has happened in India, this year ( ... )
