"Come together, Live from your Heart. We are all one people.”

concerning Return of the Ancestors festival, in Arizona last week, this is the first blog post that I have read after its complettion... it was posted on May 2nd, 2009 by Jaia Lee: dreaming into a new paradigm?

at this site, called knewways, in their Indigenous Gatherings: Coming Together section, there're four excellent videos of the Condor Dance by The Incas who traveled from Peru, and one brief slow-motion vignette of Mayan Elder and Spiritual Leader, Don Alejandro meeting and hugging Hopi Grandfather Martin for the first time.

here's a grainy distorted youtube video that still captures a lively atmosphere...
Return of the Ancestors in Camp Verde April 26th 2009.

and here are some amateur photos from the same person that posted these brief notes

as i have said before, i appreciate the New Age perspective for it's passion and devotion... but i have to admit that i prefer to balance spiritual belief with cultural anthropology & journalism.

here's an article by Kathy Mohr-Almeida, Phoenix Native American Activities Examiner (a Ph.D., Kathy is a practitioner and lifelong student of Mesoamerican and Native American healing traditions. She is involved with multiple traditional communities and is an expert on Curanderismo. Kathy is Spanish-English bilingual, and is a psychotherapist and traditional healer practicing in Mesa, Arizona)... She describes her own experience with letting go of stigmata in this curious quote from the Elders at the Gathering concerning what might be referred to as the White Man's Burden of Genocidal Paternalism:
"We are One. We forgive your ancestors. We see that you share our path. Come, walk with us."
