i understand that people are often overloaded with the degree of information contained within my posts... it can be distracting, even to me! one of my friends told me that he had to stop reading my blog, b/c he would suddenly realize that he had been following links for ten hours and it was like he was trapped in some alternate reality from a Philip K. Dick story! the funny thing is, that's exactly why i post this stuff... i have the same experience when i start researching information... using hypertext is a psychedelic peak experience for me.

btw, this icon is most famously known from an artifact called the Rattlesnake Disk from Moundville, a Mississippian necropolis... according to Jim Knight, a University of Alabama anthropology professor who has done extensive work at Moundville, "The rattlesnake-like creature circling along the disk's border represents the master of the underworld, Knight said.
