I was woken up today at noon by the sound of Hannibal yowling. He was on the lower shelf of my nightstand, behind the books, exactly where he was when I went to sleep. I picked him up, to see what was the matter, and put him on the bed. He couldn't sit up on his own. His breathing was labored. I called the animal hospital, and they told me to bring him in right away.
They put him in critical care, and the doctor came to see me. He had taken a drastic change for the worse. The choices were to keep him in the hospital for the next 4-7 days, but even then, chances would be slim. Or to put him to sleep.
At 1 pm, eastern time, Hannibal was put to sleep.
I'm sorry.
