Fandoms Written In: Super Junior, EXO, Hurricaneger, Kyoryuger

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
I didn't actually predict anything, but I think this year's been a lot more productive when it came to writing - more fics were actually finished and posted, even though...yeah, not a lot of them, but still.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?
Sentai fic (the Hurricaneger and Kyoryuger fics). It's a fandom I haven't gone back to in years, so writing fic for it again isn't something I'd have expected myself to do. That and the fact that Sentai was my first ficdom, and needless to say, I sucked.

What's your own favorite story of the year?
I'd pick live fast, drive faster or so they all rolled over, but I can't choose one.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
Complex plots were something I'd never dared to attempt before, so the plot for live fast, drive faster was a leap of faith - doing something new for once, for my first fic event. It was pretty fun, and honestly speaking, I think it's taught me how to work around plots where many things happen, one after another - write what you can first, fill in the other sections later. (Other things include writing for a fandom I was still pretty new to, writing happy fic and writing within a deadline, but those are comparatively minor.)

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the new year?
Most of my fic so far is terribly short, so one of my goals is to write longer fic. Not necessarily chaptered or monster-length fics, but just...something more than 2000, I suppose. To write more frequently and actually finish plot ideas sounds good, too.

From my past year of writing, what was...
My best story of this year:
I'd pick so they all rolled over.

My most popular story of this year:
Judging by hit counts, live fast, drive faster. (this is the 3rd time I've mentioned it in the post /cries)

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
...I'd have to say The Valley Of Thunder, because there's really little fic for that pairing (which is practically canon, so the lack of fic is surprising and alarming), and the hit counts say that it's pretty much read by people, but no one comments :( then again, Sentai is a really tiny fandom to begin with, and Hurricaneger fans are even fewer.

Most fun story to write:
...tbh it would be the WIP I'm working on now but oh well. you have as many virtues as this daisy has petals was a lot of fun because Kyoryuger is insane and its characters are just crazy, so imagining it was really fun. (It was also fun enough to make me want to write another OTL)

Story with the single sexiest moment:
um I suppose hot summer would count...? Not really a moment though so yeah

Most "holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story:
...I actually didn't feel that way about my fic this year, which...is an improvement, I suppose? There are still moments where I cringe at my writing or at my plot while reading what I've written, but overall I don't hate what I've written this year. For once.

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
Certainly so they all rolled over. A lot of 'how would he think? how would he act? how /does/ he act?' went into this piece, and I think it shaped my perception of the characters just as much as my existing perceptions shaped this piece.

Hardest story to write:
Honestly speaking, you have as many virtues as this daisy has petals. Fics with happy endings are not my strong suit, but because it's Kyoryuger, I can't kill anyone.

Biggest disappointment:
...not too sure what to pick because I'm actually decently content with how most of them turned out. Probably The Valley Of Thunder.

Biggest surprise:
you have as many virtues as this daisy has petals seems to be good, and people seem to enjoy it, so... :) I didn't quite see it coming, but I'm glad that people like it.

Most unintentionally telling story:
...this is a terribly difficult question. I don't think my stories say very much about me, but maybe Overlap.

New year's resolutions:
I did mention this on twitter, actually - to get through 2014 and have fewer than 3 characters die in total (including WIPs). Also, to write longer fic, more fic, happier fic.

!end of the year, !not fic
