Its all been a bit barmy to be frank. The Museum was used for the backdrop for some new "gritty" northern drama. It was very exciting although the actors were all kicking off that the catering was/is shite. Which is was, I only saw some very cold cartons of orange juice (from concentrate not the fresh stuff), some dodgy looking tea/coffee hybrid and a few packs of badly broken individually wrapped biscuits. Frankly its all a bit poor.

Today, it has bee FOG crazeeee. I got into work with a slight smattering of the stuff, then by 10am I coulodnt see the clock at the other side of the quad. Madness. Plus when I was going home it looked like I should have been in Dickensian London yelling something in mockney...

Moving offices soon, Im not happy but I understand that "my" team all has to be in one space. To be blunt I'm not going to like the loss of privacy and the extra running about it is going to end up with me doing. But I DO understand, am I too reasonable or brainwashed by management?? I dunno, but when I find out Ill let you know.

What else has been going on? Well I had two trips to the Natural History Museum which was ace. I got to see archaeoptryx which was SOOO damn exciting, it is probably one the simple most important pieces of evidence in the fossil record for evolution of dinosaurs into birds ( you will never look at a pigeon the same way believe me!). then I got to see the tank room in The Darwin Centre which is also ace. I have to admit I was very excited and giddy, which is great that I still get enthused about things, but jesus, Im nearly 30 and I still act like a kid!?! the only disappointment was the Diamonds exhibition. Access my arse, half the display cases are too high for a wheelchair user and the interpretation is dire. What is the great thing, is the run of lovely diamonds on the way into the exhibition. Lots of lovely jewels, don't get me wrong, but its very dated. Almost like the things us cutting edge Museums should be moving away from. Where was the edge? I didnt see it. And loads of gems are fine, but people are interested in the stories behind then, who were they made for? Who wore them? etc etc. A huge missed opportunity to introduce more science as well.... bah...

Off to Scotland next weekend, best find me gloves then! Or bloody get crocheting! Its bloody FREEZING HERE!!! I've got the blue fingernails to prove it!!
