It's both, kinda. It's with a college group that provides discounted packages for students. I have to write an essay about my experience, and then i get 2 credits.

Any sites you recommend in Tokyo?

Well, we're already seeing plenty of temples and castles on the trip, so I think I would like to see a bit of more "new" Japan as opposed to the old...

Then just wander around Shibuya, Shinjuku, Akihabara, or Ueno--that should alone provide TONS of fodder. You can also head to the Yurakucho-Ginza area.
