I can't seem to get to LJ with any regularity these days. Granted, life has been a bit busy since our newest grandchild arrived. Still, I need to try and do better.
Our youngest daughter and newest grandbaby are doing well. I've been over to help out with things a few times and will be going over again on Monday to help our oldest daughter with the painting of the baby's room.
It's hard to believe that it will be officially summer tomorrow. Spring for the most part has been cool and damp. I'm not much of a gardener so the weird weather hasn't changed much in our yard. In fact what I DON'T know about gardening could fill several books, but yesterday and the day before I went out and got my hands dirty. Here are the results:

Our "park" bench flanked by terracotta pots.

The beginnings of my rock garden.

A closer shot of the two "feature" pieces, a humming bird feeder that drips constantly so is now just a green glass ball and my giant snail.

Our address sign at the end of our driveway.

Hubby has completed his course of physiotherapy after his second hip replacement. He should be able to return to work by the middle of next month. My knees have been bothering me a lot lately, so I had a cortisone shot in each knee on Wednesday. They are less painful now thankfully.

Hat production for the Operation Christmas Child boxes continues. There are 64 little hats in bags in our guest bedroom. We are on target and only have 36 more to make. A few weeks ago I spotted some lovely yarn while out shopping and it followed me home. It's very soft and I loved the colours. The colour is called "Tidal". I knit myself a summer wrap using the Turkish stitch which makes for a delicate openwork wrap. Here is the finished wrap:

Not too much else new or interesting going on. Hubby and I have been watching FIFA World Cup matches this past week. Some great plays, some epic "dives" and some bad calls by the refs. Canada didn't qualify and England isn't doing well having lost their first two matches so I'm not sure who I'll cheer on if they get knocked out.

Well, I guess I should get a move on. Maggie is at the groomers and I should be getting a call to pick her up soon. Have a great weekend!
