melting

It's great that the snow is melting and we are having more spring like temperatures but I'll be very thankful when it's over. Maggie drags in sand and snow. When the snow melts we have muddy puddles everywhere. Worse, she shakes and there is muddy water splattered on the walls, doors, cupboards, as well as the washing machine and fridge. I must have washed half of the walls on the main floor today. I'm almost ready to shave her bald. (not really but the thought did cross my mind) Perhaps when the temperatures climb a little higher she will be just wet rather that caked with snow and dirt (snirt) and I'll be able to dry her off before she makes a mess all over everything.

Yesterday was Marvelous Manufacturing Monday with our oldest daughter. I cut card stock for my upcoming workshop while our daughter cut quilt blocks for a Christmas tree skirt she is going to make. I was able to get nearly half of the card stock cut and I'll work on more tomorrow after I make Easter cards for the grandkids.

After vacuuming, dusting, washing many muddy surfaces and the floor I went shopping. I picked up the things I need to make pulled pork and potato salad on Easter Sunday. Our oldest daughter requested the food choices and she and her family will be coming for dinner. (the pulled pork is the same recipe I made for Boxing Day) Our youngest daughter is going to her in-laws for Easter Sunday.

I've been relaxing since getting home. Maggie and I didn't walk today. I'm a bad dog mom. I wanted the house to stay clean for at least 24 hours. We will be out tomorrow. Maybe I'll go out earlier before things start to thaw and perhaps she won't track in so much.

I bought a magazine called "best of flea market style" today, so I'm going to get a cup of tea and look though it. Maybe it will give me inspirations for another project.

cleaning, spring, maggie
