I do not believe I have been here long enough to celebrate the end of the year.

Instead I will offer my fondest wishes.

It only took a single look at the roster before Marth had found her room. He'd had no plans of knocking, had no plans of distracting her from whatever it was she was doing. All he knew was that perhaps if he could put himself on paper, he could give all of himself to her. But to take her heart...

Daisy had said he should go for it, if he really wanted it. And the orange-haired flower had always been more respectful of someone who owned up to their desires and their virtues - even if she lacked a bit of the latter. He'd been unable to say anything as much as he'd wanted to. He'd been unable to admit how he dreamed of her when they were far apart. He'd been unable to confess that she dominated his thoughts, turned him from a selfless king into a selfish young man. He'd been unable to do this, that, the other thing, and everything.

And still he wanted to.

He'd written it at least five times. Seven, if he counted the first two drafts where he got five sentences in and decided they simply weren't good enough. And even after the seventh had been completely, he was uncertain the words were at all worthy of her exotic eyes and surely scrutinising gaze she would give any parcel that was left for her.

All the same he left it for her. Parchment paper in lavender, tied with ribbon, and left with a stem of bellflowers that he'd taken from the greenhouse. For once upon a time, they had planted them together. And seeing them in bloom made his heart swell to nearly bursting.

Midna,

A heart be so true,
A sky be so blue,
A pond be so filled,
A spine be so chilled.

Lips be so soft,
Brow be so aloft,
Eyes be so narrow,
Chirps be so sparrow.

A night of music and delight,
A single moment of her spite.
He will wait by walls bright,
To rest upon her his sight.

A lone dance is all requested,
Within his arms her rested,
For two to be briefly nested,
Atop the world they be crested.

Always and Fondly
