I can't wait to have little ones to celebrate Halloween with. I think Halloween is becoming a more popular holiday with adults, in part because it's now "okay" for adults to enjoy these holidays that were more geared toward children. Our generation doesn't see a problem with enjoying the smae things they did as they were little. How fun to go to a Halloween party and bob for apples and all kinds of other stuff. It seems that most of the places (if not all) that have "adult" Halloween events are bars. What's the fun in that?
I am... not "obsessed", but keenly interested in Salem (now called Danvers), Mass, and the witch trials in 1692. I remember I was a 6th or 7th grader when I first heard of them, and have been interested ever since. I would love to visit the village, and any remnants from the time... perhaps the Parish house, or the building wherein the trials were held. I think Ann Putnam, Jr. is an interesting figure in the events; she was one of the earliest accusers, and the only accuser to apologize for her actions and role, some ten years later.
Maybe a Halloween trip for next year...
