"Good" angels don't blackmail/pressure you into taking an oath to obey no matter what, no changies, no takebacks.
THIS IS TRUE. But if I can add something? The wording of the oath absolutely fascinates me:
You give yourself over wholly to the service of God and His angels? ... You swear to follow His will and His word as swiftly and obediently as you did your own father's?
He's so sneaky, even as Stepford!Cas: we've just had Heaven and God made distinct in the previous episode, with Castiel stating he serves Heaven (as opposed to God or Dean). And then he makes Dean swear an oath to GOD. And HIS angels. So ( ... )

No, seriously, this is fucking awesome, and you better believe I will be paying more conscious attention to it when writing Cas and Dean/Cas in the future.
Does Cas follow him? Absolutely. But he also gives him hell along the way.
YES! This was one of my favorite things about even the bleak bleak world of 5x04: Cas never left Dean...even if just so he could continue to give him hell about his shitty decision making.
Also, I love what you say about Cas becoming more and more badass the "weaker" he gets. That's what I want to see, really-because it's already clear to me that Cas' awesome has nothing to do with him having powers or being an angel. It's all him. I just hope he realizes that too.
