Oh, this could be lots of fun. It seems like Mr Newman may have done a runner, and good luck to him!

I'm usually not this quick, but a substantial part of the first two chapters has been written for quite some time... the various pieces needed bringing together, though doing that took some time :/
I wonder if Theo and co have figured out that in Martin they have an escalating series of problems?
Oh, they know, and they're trying to figure out what to do about it!

and besides, if Morris can transplant someone's brain into another body, reversing the effects of... well, death, is probably a snap.

Neither do I. *facepalm*
...had me rolling.
Well, it's true! I mean, you'd figure that transplanting someone's brain into another body can't be easy.
Though I did read this great book recently, Stiff, by Mary Roach, and in one chapter she talks about some scientists who have considered (seriously) the possibility of doing head transplants. Or body transplants, depending. Seriously fucked up.

And after I googled "Now and Again" for some pictures , I can't wait to see Michael Wiseman enter this story!

Heh heh, thought you might feel that way :)
Now and Again pretty much demonstrates that genius is never appreciated in its own time. It was a great, regrettably short-lived show, my first-ever fandom, and well, I just love it and miss it so much.

Seriously, tell me we won't have to wait long for the next chapter.
Right now I'm caught between writing the next chapter and writing fucked up post-Patient X angst. Don't know which one I'll decide on. *flail*

You should care, because it was a great show. And you get to see Eric Close with his shirt off. A LOT.
Plus, the writing was great. Morris is an awful lot like McKay--scary smart, sarcastic, condescending, and a complete jerk on most occasions. And, like Sheppard, Michael loves tormenting Morris :)
