New TARDIS Console Competition
UK fans of Doctor Who will soon be given the chance to design their own TARDIS console to be featured in the new series.
According to the BBC's Press Office, a competition will be launched on the 7th of October allowing viewers to submit their ideas for a new-look TARDIS control room. The winning entry will apparently feature in the new series.
It is not yet known however, how the winning design will be featured. It's not likely that it will feature as the Doctor's TARDIS; filming has already begun on the new series. However, it has already been reported that David Tennant's final story, The End Of Time, will feature at least two Time Lords other than the Doctor, either of whom may return in series 5 using the new TARDIS.
The competition will be run by Blue Peter, the BBC's children's variety show. Blue Peter has had a long-running affiliation with Doctor Who since early in the classic series.
Blue Peter previously ran a competition for the 2nd series in 2006 for viewers to design a new creature for the show. The winning entry was the Abzorbaloff, who featured in Love and Monsters, and was designed by 9-year-old William Grantham.
