Watched a lot of tv this week:
Monday:
Alphas - this continues to be a show I really like a lot. The characters are interesting and most are very likable. I like the plots, the characterizations. I like how their abilities work and the downsides to them. I'm glad I started watching it.
Major Crimes - I love the characters mostly, and so far the cases haven't upset me as much/often as the ones on The Closer. So that's something.
Revolution - I've given up on it for now.
Tuesday:
Face Off - I greatly enjoy the lack of personal drama/contestant sniping this season. And for the most part I'm agreeing with who is winning vs losing.
Hot Set - I like that the contestants don't carry over from show to show, as it reduces the amount of personal drama they can sustain. And I'm enjoying seeing how two designers take an idea and come up with very different things.
Vegas - Mom watches this via dvr recording and I paid attention this week and I didn't hate it. I'm not sure I'd want to watch it all the time, but it's really well done (acting, script, etc) and the nostalgia doesn't saturate every single moment of the show.
Wednesday:
Arrow - HOLY SHIT. I liked this way, way more than I expected to. When it finished I was all, OKAY GIMME MORE!!! The only complaint I had was the character name John Diggle. Seriously? Diggle?! That's like a porn name. Other than that, I greatly enjoyed the episode and can't wait to see more.
Rachel Maddow - I've been feeling overwhelmed lately, so I've even pulled back on watching Rachel. But tonight I had an hour to kill between Arrow and CSI so I watched Rachel and it was okay. I just have to be careful, especially as we get closer to November.
CSI - I still listen to this show more than watch it because the simulated gore and other icky stuff is just too much for me most of the time. But I'm liking the characters and the team dynamics.
Thursday:
Big Bang Theory - getting a little tired of this, but it can still make me laugh sometimes.
Beauty & the Beast - I had low expectations, however I was mostly pleased with this.
I'm glad to see Kristen Kreuk getting a role that gives her a chance to do more than be a victim. In fact, as Catherine she reminds me a great deal of Yancy Butler's Sara Pezzini in Witchblade. Which I am all for! I like her partner Tess quite a bit, she seems cool. I like that Catherine can take care of herself. The only problem I had was what I felt was a lack of chemistry between Catherine and Vincent. I'm hoping that'll change with time. Until then, I'll just mentally slash Catherine and Tess. :D
Project Runway - I'm still not happy about who was sent home last week. I'm glad next week is the finale. I will not be watching PR Allstars. I can not sit through another moment of Joshua again. Ever.
I missed Person of Interest and Elementary this week. *pout*
But the VP debate. No I did not watch it. I could not have handled the rage that Ryan would have incited in me. I did hear about it thanks to everyone who live blogs/tweets it. And tumblr supplied me with many gifs. I'm glad Biden got so many good comments in there and that he owned it. I'm so happy with the moderator, Martha Raddatz, for doing what a moderator is meant to do. She was firm and direct and awesome.
Friday:
Rachel Maddow - since the debate went so well, I watched Rachel again this night. I mostly was able to handle it.
Haven - I LOVE THIS SHOW. That said,
Nathan needs to get the god damn fuck over whatever his issue is with Duke. Seriously, he is way the fuck out of line at this point. It's not fun and it doesn't make sense. Audrey's despair/anxiety about not being able to save everyone before she is taken away again is wrenching. I'm now feeling anxiety about her leaving too, big time. I really appreciate the addition of Claire, I just do. She's a good addition to the cast and she's likable. Robin suggested the horrible theory that Claire is the bad person killing women. I really hope she's wrong. Speaking of the serial killer, that needs to end real soon. Haven isn't for realistic violence and gore, it's for the more cartoonish/hyper-real stuff. And I don't want that to change. PS: I love Duke.
Grimm - I'm so far behind on this show. I've just got to sit down and marathon catch-up.
Saturday:
Bedlam - kind of half-assing this. I enjoyed series one well enough, but now they've almost completely changed out the whole cast and that's weird. We'll see.
