So I adore Doctor Who, and ert has gotten me hooked on Firefly, although I was dubious about it at first. (Now I'm desperately trying to stretch the episodes out as long as possible.) We also have been watching BSG, which, while it had a good first season, has been declining in quality since then, in my opinion. But I'm still enough into it to want to ( Read more... )

Cylon Roomba Love.

I've been casually following Galactica until the last few eps which I've been going out of my way to watch.

My most favorite of the new Who is 'Girl in the Fireplace'. If you have not gotten to it yet, do so.

Are you kidding? I finished that season months and months ago. We watch it when it airs in the UK. So yes, I've seen it, and while it was an interesting episode, I think that the way it was executed was poor. I think it was out of character for the Doctor to abandon Rose so completely and that it was out of character for him to be so...blatant...about it. I liked the second Christmas episode much better.

I think the best episode of the new Doctor Who was the "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances" two-parter. I was awfully fond of "School Reunion", too.

I'm lame and get my Who off SF.

I agree it has issues with the Doctor/Rose relationship, but I really liked how it tried to push into the his mind, and the weight of his past. I thought School Reunion got into similar issues, but liked the sad overtones of fireplace more then the bitter/resigned overtones of reunion.

I did like Empty Child/Doctor Dances, the Dr./Rose/Jack dynamic was great, but I was not as fond of the background plot.

Oh, part of what I loved about it was that it had a wonderful and believable sci-fi plot. Tastes differ, I guess.

The Vulcan mindmeld was what I hated most about that episode. Bah. IMO, "School Reunion" did a much better job.
