Apartment is awesome for the most part, just a few things that need fixing. The neighborhood rules, you can walk to anything you might need, which is exactly what we've been doing.
Only one major problem so far: As the movers were unloading our stuff yesterday, the power went out. I called the power company to get it switched into my name and turned back on (figured they were working on something) turns out the previous tenant left a $2000+/- unpaid bill. We had to fax a copy of the lease, which we did immediately.
They have a 24-48 hour turn around time on lease reviews. And then another 36-48 hours to turn the power on. We spent all day yesterday and last night without power at all, it got around 100 degrees in here and it was IMPOSSIBLE to sleep. Today we got the key to the vacant unit downstairs and ran a couple of extension cords up the side of the building. We at least have computers and TV now as well as a fan.
Currently sitting at my desk, looking out at the Coors Field sign and listening to the really REALLY bad cover band at the bar across the alley. We're heading out to Chapultepec later to catch some jazz and a burrito.
