I saw on the news yesterday that the governor was expected to sign another bill to extend unemployment benefits another 20 weeks. This came as good news to me, as out of the dozens, maybe hundreds of resumes or applications I've sent out since August, I could count the number of replies on one hand. Only one real interview so far, and it was for

And it would be nice if CL recognized my savvy and said "hey, how about you manage our wordpress install and take care of those 14 or 15 plugins that are screaming for attention every time you log in to post something?" I have to wonder if they even know letting their plugins slide on updates can mean huge security vulnerabilities.

It's also funny that my dad commented on my CL articles. He was saying, "They are well written and have good information and links and phone numbers to back up your info and give more detailed information. Not that I thought you wouldn't write well!" Ahahahaa I think he is probably surprised because growing up I always was more enthusiastic about math over English, even though I excelled at both. My SAT scores were nearly even on both parts, both times I took the test. I think my gripe with high school English was all the annoying anti-war literature we had to read. As if I didn't already know war is a bad thing, I didn't need to be reading book after book about people getting shot up and dying.

The only real anti-war book I remember having to read in high school was "A Separate Peace." Oh, and the poem "In Flanders Fields." We got more of the "it's symbolism! See the symbolism hit you over the head? Watch out for the falling symbolisms!" type of stuff.

Have you thought about talking to our Fearless Leader (tm) Stephen about the plugin issue at the May 5 meeting? I know I'm a big fan of security measures when it comes to journalism, but maybe that's just me. :-P

You are so lucky. We had All Quiet on the Western Front, Red Badge of Courage, For Whom the Bell Tolls... I could go on, but I've tried to forget most of the books.

I've considered emailing Stephen, actually. It looks like CL might be pretty packed Tuesday night. I think the facebook event has over 70 people saying they'll be there, and who knows if that includes any of the top 100 and final 5 companies.

And I am starting to wonder about going on Tuesday... I'm not one to panic, but the flu is in Florida now and I'm not a fan of getting sick. Congregating in an enclosed space with 100 other people all mingling and shaking hands doesn't sit entirely well with me.
