weekly round-up 47
Whew, just got back from a latke party! I think I have about twenty pounds of potato, applesauce, and sour cream in mah belly. Yurmm. BRING IT, HOLIDAYS!
And look, this is my first round-up posted on time (aka during the weekend) for the whole month of November!! Shame on me. I'm trying though!

Merlin recs
i can see us dying (are we) by thisissirius (PG, 800 words)
Summary: Arthur/Merlin, coda to 2x10 Sins of the Father. Arthur knows Merlin is magic and attempts to understand why Merlin acts the way he does in the episode.
Notes: HURTY GOOD and the PERFECT conclusion to the episode. I think we all want Arthur to understand exactly what Merlin sacrificed for him, and thisissirius explores that tantalizing possibility.

Summary: Arthur/Merlin, Victorian!AU. Third in the author's Gentlemen of Quality universe but can be read standalone. Merlin has some radical ideas but Arthur and Morgana are on his side.
Notes: I do love a good period piece :D The writing is lovely and story is all good stuff, but what really stands out is how deeply knowledgeable and passionate the author is for the history behind this universe. She builds a very evocative (and accurate, as I'm rather obsessed with Victorian history myself) setting and in turn, it makes a solid story morph into something instantly recc-able :D I hope she continues exploring this world! I know I'm enjoying it.
Little Slices of Death by toestastegood (PG-13, 5k)
Summary: Arthur/Merlin, Arthur Finds Out, future!fic, jealous!Arthur. Arthur discovers that he can't sleep when Merlin isn't around. Having recently demanded that Merlin leave the castle, this is rather inconvenient.
Notes: I love the good, old-fashioned plot of Arthur examining his feelings for his manservant-turned-sorcerer. Morgana and Gwen are great characters as well, subtly helping their king make the right decision. Sweet, angsty, fluffy.
Jigsaw Porn by waldorph (NC-17, 400 words)
Summary: Arthur/Merlin, dom/sub kink. Merlin likes being used, a little.
Notes: Hot, hard, and fast. Just as a quickie should be! Also, waldorph consistently puts out great stuff so this one's another must-read of hers :D
