As for the title, I was agonising over the damn thing... I wanted something that would reflect the prompt (Winter) and the story... and then I stumbled across Walking on Thin Ice by Yoko Ono, which fit perfectly (particularly as the song is kind of about the unpredictability of life and death).

Thank you! I love the episode, but it's always left me with a need to know more. I also feel that Ianto is perfectly aware of his limitations, but on-screen isn't necessarily in a position to do anything about it. That's the beauty of an AU *g*
