OC Challenge

May 02, 2008 11:07

I've just discovered a challenge community for Original Characters, occhallenge   and have decided to take part. Hell, I already *have* an OC that I've been using; can't be that difficult to write 25 pieces of fic about her, can it? *ulp*

My prompt table is behind the cut. I'm allowed to use 5 fics I've already written, will see if anything fits...

oh wow- 25 stories! Although with the verse you've built around her there is a lot of potential between TW and Highlander

Funnily enough the 2 stories that have popped into my head new (or semi new at least) aren't anything to do with Torchwood at all...
Am maybe going to resurrect a couple of Trek fics for this.

One of the ones I want to repost ties in nicely to one of the new ones I've written, which is why I want to repost it. It also has the advantage of having 2 OCs in it, even though one of them doesn't belong to me!

I totally missed the part about being allowed five prewritten fics. I was doing it anyways!

Thing is, surprisingly few of mine fit the prompts! Don't think I'll be able to use 5 pre-writtens.

Hi!

I saw where you were looking for table tags to change colors. Here's what I know...hope it helps.

The table Amy set up is pretty basic, so these will all work fine on your HTML page.

To change the border, find the TABLE tag and insert somewhere inside it: BORDERCOLOR="xxxxxx"

To change the background color, use BGCOLOR="XXXXXX"
This one can be used in the table itself for a single color, or in the TD tags to change the background of each separate cell. This is fun if you want to really highlight things.

To use a background image, use BACKGROUND="filename". Again, can be done either in the full table or in each separate TD.

If you want to get fancy and do a wide, two-tone border, use these codes:

border="XX" (numbers are a width...the wider, the more dramatic)
bordercolordark="XXXXXX" (border shadow)
bordercolorlight="XXXXXX" (border highlight)

For the X's, you'll want to reaplce them with selections from a list of Non-Dithering Colors. This way you get a good selection ( ... )

Ack. That didn't seem to help. *pouts* All I want is white gridlines, nowt too complicated I moved the bordercolor="FFFFFF" text around to different places within the table tag and it made no difference.

Do you need the html?

if you'd like, send the code to littlemissscareall (at) gmail (dot) com with what you want, and I'll see if I can fix it and send it back.

ETA: Or, since I'm ubergeek today, just download THIS, copy and paste over your current table. The links are right, and it shouldn't change the text colors. It's a simple text file, and the links are right (yes, I took them from your journal...).

Nope, still didn't work. There must be something strange in the coding for this theme (Which I love so ain't changing it) and as I don't do anything but the most basic html it's beyond me! Thanks for trying to help though.
Bloody Live Journal. At least it reassures me that when I did try to fiddle with it I wasn't doing anything wrong as such, it was just being pernickety.
