Discworld con, and other things

Other things first... I found another writing meme and at lease some of it is very true about my writing.

Your Writing Strength is Sensitivity

You relate to people, especially characters, extremely well. You can live a life through someone else's eyes.
People often ask you if your writing is based on personal experience. You write as though something has happened to you.

Your characters tend to be the most beloved, and your stories are very engrossing. You make readers care about what you write about.
Human interaction and relationships are very interesting to you. You focus on character development more than anything else.

What's Your Writing Strength?

Now for the important bit

DISCWORLD CON THIS WEEKEND!

I know some people on my flist are attending (apart from idontlikegravy who is going to be my roomie and all round partner in crime). If you still have my mobile number from either of the previous DWcons I've attended it hasn't changed. If you're going to be there and would like to have it, message me and I'll pass it on.

Having said that, I might be less available due to dragging along my niece (C) and nephew (M) (aka the niblings) who live in Manchester. Both are quite shy if they don't know people and nephew also has Aspergers Syndrome (he is thinking about whether he wants a blue dot or not). Having said that, they are both very fannish - they're massive Harry Potter fans, M is a huge Doctor Who fan (C likes Doctor Who too but not on the same level as me and her brother do) and obviously they both like Discworld. IIRC M is also a Star Wars fan so if you do meet them and they're doing the teenage monosyllabic thing, just start talking about fandom stuff and they'll probably show interest, especially with the new series of Doctor Who coming up this month. M is 15 and C is 17

Gravy and I are staying in one of the overspill hotels (Jurys Inn) and will be commuting. If anyone is in The Palace and would like to donate bag space for during the day if we need it (unlikely as I don't think either of us are doing the mega costume thing, I'm certainly not), that would be much appreciated. Friday we'll be there in the afternoon after about 3pm as we can't check in until 2pm at the Jurys, not sure when the niblings will be joining us. Friday has the opening ceremony, Mitch Benn, Bedtime Stories and sing-a-long Once More With Feeling. I might not bother with the bedtime stories as I struggle to hear them, but I will be taking my equivalent of a teddy, my black dragon Kilgarragh, possibly while doing a Lady Sibyl impression...

Anyway, if you see/hear a larger than life, loud Scouse woman it might be me (obviously if you've met me you know me). Come say hi. :) I only bite if I'm asked nicely...
Badge name will be Aly.
